The Preobrazenski Monastery is one of the most celebrated Bulgarian holy places, but it can be reached only by a busy road of about 6 km from the outskirts of Veliko Tarnovo in direction Ruse. The monastery is the 4th largest in Bulgaria. It was founded during the Second Bulgarian Kingdom in 13-14 c.
