DEscription:
The Roman and Early Byzantine city of Nikopolis ad Istrum is located 20 km north of VelikoTarnovo. It is situated on a low plateau on the left bank of the Rossitsa River. To reach it, we recommend taking the turn for Nikyup in the village of Samovodene, where the traffic also calms down considerably.
Upon return you can visit the Preobrazenski Monastery.
