Calafat – Poiana Mare – Rast – Macesu de Jos – Zaval – Becket

The route starts at Calafat Municipal Park (50 m above sea level, 1.2% slope) near the Danube bank and heads Southeast of the city. From the exit of Calafat (km 3.4, 61 m above sea level, 2% slope) follows a pronounced descent to km 5.9 (48 m above sea level, 0.4% slope). From this point, the track descends slowly with a slight difference in altitude. Upon leaving Poiana Mare (km 17.9, 43 meters above sea level, slope -0.7%), there is a crossing between terrace III (Builesti) and terrace I (Calarasi) on the Danube river, which is right opposite the forest of Chirumella. From Rast (km 33, 32 m above sea level, 0.5% slope), the road follows the border between the terraces and the valley of the Danube. Between Negoi (km 40.1, 33 m above sea level, 0.5% slope) and Bistretu Nou (km 51, 37 m above sea level, 0.5% slope) the road has two pronounced descents and climbs with a difference of not more than 10 m. Between Bistret (km 53.1) and Carna (km 65.8) the route passes North of the Bistret, Carna and Nasta lakes and at km 60.7 (31 m above sea level, -0.9% slope) the route crosses the Desnatui River. On exit from Macesu de Jos (km 73.3, 34 m above sea level, 0.5% slope), there are two marked descents and climbs, at the intersection of the first and fourth terrace of the Danube between Nedeia and Gighera. In Zaval (km 83.6, 51 meters above sea level, 0.4% slope) follows a new part of the descents and ascent as a result of crossing the left bank of the Jiu River (km 84.1, 32 meters above sea level, 0.7% slope).
